Keeping this in consideration, can I fit 245 tires on 225 rims?
This will work perfectly fine, because as I said in the previous post 245/70-16 is the exact same diameter as 225/75-16. The ONLY difference is that the 245 is 0.8" wider (not much wider at all). The two tire sizes are interchangable.
Secondly, can you put different width tires on same rim? Because tires have flexible sidewalls, a single tire size will fit on a variety of rim widths. The width of the rim will influence the width of the tire. A tire mounted on a narrow rim would be "narrower" than if the same size tire was mounted on a wide rim.
Herein, what is the difference between a 225 and 235 tire?

Can I use 225 65r17 instead of 235 60r17?
235/65R17 has a sidewall height of 153 millimeters (65% of 235 mm), while 225/60R17 has a sidewall height of 135 mm (60% of 225 mm). You are reducing sidewall height by 18 mm (about 3/4"), so your car will be lower by this amount. This reduced ground clearance will increase the risk of scraping on speed bumps.
Related Question AnswersWill a 315 tire fit on 10 Rim?
Keep in mind drag radials have softer sidewalls so they could stand up to the extra bulge but probably not the 10" wide rim. 315 tires need an 11" wide rim but I've seen some mustangs with 315's on a 10 1/2" rim and they bulge alot. I would recommend a 295 series tire to be safe and to produce the most even tire wear. How wide is a 225 tire?
